The Legacy (1978)

When two interior designers from Los Angeles, Maggie and Pete, are retained by a mysterious British client. They reluctantly take the job. After a near death experience on the way there, they find it almost impossible to leave. As they wait to meet their host, the other guests arrive. Very high profile, powerful guests.

Maggie's first encounter with the host is a traumatic experience in which he forces a silver ring on her finger. A ring which will not come off. As the guests begin dying off in freak accidents, she realizes something very sinister is under way! She also realizes the dark secret of her family's history.
